Advantages of multi dimensional dataset in visualizations

It is important to choose the right tool for the right job. As much as important is this statement, very often we are prone to chase the rabbit hole and end up in a never ending cycle of overwhem with the choices available on the market, with all their advantages and disadvantages.

What is important to note down is the ease of use and the data reusability. 

The business would require an infinite number of reports and dashboards, asking for new reports with additional columns or less columns or different column name or slightly different kpi or a different filter by date (Monthly / daily / weekly / yearly), different brand, different supplier name. Senior professionls would spot on these cases and would try to reuse the same dataset or same report as much as possible in order to limit the maintance required on these reports.
